What is a sour beer?
Sour beer is pronounced «saoueur», it is literally the translation «acid, acidulous» of English. The first «sour» come from Belgium and are generally low in alcohol and often flavored with fruit.
Very appreciated by the community of beer geeks, the big difference of this type of beer happens during fermentation. Lactic acid is added at this stage and will make a beer «sour» out of fermenter. You will understand, this beer has everything to delight fans of craft beer.
The culture of craft beer and experimentation always pushes us to innovate with new recipes and we wanted with La Brasserie d’Aqui to propose this new recipe to our community. The «sour» having a growing appeal among fans of craft beers.

Nestled in the hinterland of Nice, Brasserie D’aqui embodies passion, originality, and love of craft beer. Created by three childhood friends, she strives to innovate by offering new recipes to her craft beer fan community.
Our two breweries from Nice met to create this new beer recipe, mixing originality and quality and brewed for you a new SOUR beer: BLUE D’AQUI.

For beer novices, the first sip can be confusing because the «sour» has almost no bitterness, but also because its taste is very far from what one can have the habit of drinking compared to a good classic beer. It will however seduce lovers of singular flavors. On tasting, pronounced notes of coffee and slightly tangy notes of tangerine juice.
Coming from fair trade, it is to Malongo coffee that we owe these delicious notes of coffee, chosen to create this beer. This is not the first time that we create beers with this Nice brand: discover our legendary kawa stout.
