OUR STORY
OUR STORY
At BLUE COAST it is not just about great craft beer it is also about the art of living a crafted lifestyle – sharing experiences with friends and taking the time to enjoy life. We believe that life is too precious to drink average beer – everyone deserves to drink high quality crafted beer - so wherever you may be in the world, take a moment, be embraced by the BLUE COAST experience and taste the glorious French Rivera. It’s where you belong!
The BLUE COAST journey began on a visit to some craft breweries in Southern California. A group of founding ‘Bluecoasters’ came together to share their world beer discoveries, passion for craft and a vision that led to the creation of the Blue Coast Brewing Company.
From the beginning in 2017, our goal has been to brew outstanding, unique beers while maintaining an unwavering commitment to making beer the right way : sustainable, ethical, and with the patience required in the art of brewing. Whether brewing our original Blonde or perfecting our latest seasonal release we approach everything just as we did from day one; with commitment to excellence. We know we are not the only dedicated and passionate craft brewer, so we want to thank you for being a part of our journey.
The Brewery
The BLUE COAST brewery is located in the "EcoValley" of Nice, France.
Our 800 m2 facility is currently equipped with two brewing systems - a very crafty 5HL brewing system for small batches and seasonal beers - and a state-of-the-art 25HL system that is currently the workhorse of our brewery. In addition to the brewing system, we have 270 hl of fermentation capacity and an additional 85 hl of beer ‘finishing’ capacity.
We produce beer in bottles and kegs and have a "cold room" for storing finished products so that everything is delivered to our customers at maximum freshness.

Your Brewer Robert Bush
Our Brewmaster, Robert Bush, is a character of great passion and commitment to the art of brewing.
Robert, a singer in a punk band in the 80’s, started brewing at home and for the past 20 years he has expressed himself by creating original beers of great character. In 1995 his first beer (a German style pilsner) won gold at the Swedish National Championships in Stockholm and in 1996 he won the Best-in-show beer in the same competition with an English style bitter, earning him the title of “Home Brewer of the Year”.
He started his professional brewing career as an assistant brewer at Nils-Oscar Brewery including an assignment working at Grupo Modelo (Corona) in Mexico. Robert went on to become Brewmaster at both Grebbestad Bryggeri and Eskilstuna Olkultur in his native Sweden.
Robert studied at Heriot-Watt in Edinburgh and is a certified Beer Judge having worked and judged at several beer festivals.
With the adventurous spirit of his ancestors the Vikings, Robert made his way to Nice, to create unique and delicious beers inspired by the flavours and aromas of the Mediterranean.
